Bronwen The Welsh Lady is a quirkily illustrated design based on the traditional and Iconic image of a Welsh Lady. She is definitely a perfect gift for anyone looking to represent Welsh history, culture, and heritage.

She has been cut out of the clay with a cutter that I designed myself.
I then dry the shape flat and biscuit fire. The next stage is painting her with underglaze and then glaze firing to a high temperature of 1200 degrees in my kiln.

To make the mosaic I have then attached Bronwen and the surrounding ceramic pieces with glue to my light weight and waterproof base which I have grouted in place. I love finding the right ceramic pieces to make the picture stand out and be a delight for the eye. I have collected broken cherished plates over the years and finally they have found their place!
There are two variations to choose from , one which says CYMRU and WALES and the other says WALES. I have used Welsh symbols and broken Welsh vintage pottery to make the mosaics tell a story.
For the background I have used part of a vintage map of North Wales .
